Residential and the One Year Intensive Living Skills Residential Course

The Residential Service is for people aged 18 and above and is open all year.

Vacancies may occur at any time because the Project does not need to operate on a college term basis. The Project’s aim is to help students achieve their greatest level of independence. In consultation with family and the funding agency the Project is willing to be involved in identifying appropriate accommodation or other services when they are ready to move on. It is therefore difficult to guarantee exactly when places will become available although it is possible to give an indication.

Normally the process for applications is as follows:-

  • An informal visit—the applicant or other involved parties may then complete an application form to request a preliminary assessment/trial stay
  • If appropriate a preliminary assessment/trial stay will be offered. Residential trial stays can be for up to a period of two weeks, for which there is a charge
  • After a preliminary assessment/residential trial stay, a comprehensive report is sent to all parties which discusses the suitability of the course/service and the support we can provide. If all are in agreement, a place will be offered, together with an indication of the fees

Day Services

We always have vacancies for daytime opportunities, although as we provide small groups and individual attention some activities have a waiting list.

If you do not see a daytime activity that you are looking for please enquire, as we strive to meet student needs and aspirations and will try to provide extra groups if enough demand exists.

Normally the process for applications is as follows:-

  • An informal visit—the applicant or other involved parties may then complete an application form to request a taster day
  • If appropriate a taster day will be offered
  • At the end of a taster day feed back is given, and the suitability of the service and support we can provide is discussed. If all are in agreement, a place will be offered, together with an indication of the fees.

Respite Service

Normally the process for applications is as follows:-

tomatoes
  • An informal visit to the Project
  • An application is made after the visit and a decision will be made regarding the suitability of the service
  • The decision will be communicated to all parties, together with an indication of fees
